Principle of Complex Progression

The principle of complex progression expresses the idea that learning the game can in no way be reduced to a linear and cumulative sequence, since playing football is, by essence, a complex and systemic activity. Furthermore, contrary to a mechanical view that seeks to progress players from simple to complex by stacking successive steps, Tactical Periodization asserts that one must always start from complexity, because playing is, by nature, a complex action. Progression therefore occurs within complexity, by modulating its intensity, its constraints, and its internal relationships.
