The world throw-in expert, a consultant for Liverpool, Dortmund, and Ajax, shares advice and exercises to improve in an area often underestimated in training.

Since 2004, I have been a specialist throw-in coach for several clubs and have participated in 15 international titles. Today, I continue to travel the world to share my methods with Federations and professional teams. I advise in Germany, Japan, Spain, Sweden, and Denmark. While the vision of the throw-in and its importance is progressing, some still believe that working on this aspect only brings marginal gains... And yet, they are wrong.

As many coaching staffs have realized, the gains can be enormous. On average, a match has between 40 and 60 throw-ins, and teams spend about 20 minutes managing the resulting situations. Yet, in my observations, most are average or even poor in this exercise. This is a shame, because reaching a good or very good level in this area improves a team's overall results.
