The revolution in English professional football will have to wait... a little longer, at least. The Football Association (FA) has not followed through on plans to restructure its competitions, notably aimed at expanding the number of teams in the third and sixth divisions. This reform, aimed in particular to increase the number of teams in the third and fourth divisions from 12 to 14, where the four winners of the fourth division would have been automatically promoted, while the runners-up would have had to go through playoffs to determine the other two promoted teams. Above all, it would have allowed for the introduction of B teams in the Women's Super League, a desired move for many professional clubs. 144 clubs responded to a survey, and while 55% of them responded favourably to the proposal, the FA decided to take more time to address the concerns this new organization raises for amateur clubs. To be continued.
