At the helm of Brentford FC since 2018, Thomas Frank has learned the ins and outs of football management through seasons in the Championship and now the Premier League. In a feature by Sky Sports, the Danish coach—widely regarded as a specialist in his field—shared some of his core habits. Following a 2–0 defeat at Liverpool, Frank conducted his post-match debrief alongside the club’s video analyst. Despite the result, he chose to highlight his team’s best moments to keep morale high: “We’re going to show the players 14 interesting opportunities—situations where we lacked a bit of sharpness or Liverpool defended well. There are times when I need to raise my voice to say something wasn’t good enough, but I’m a strong believer in positive messaging. Overall, I think it creates more belief and better performances from the players.”  In a separate interview with Gary Lineker, the former Brøndby manager also advised coaches to maintain physical contact with squad players who are getting less game time, as a way of reinforcing their value within the group. This approach to positive management is clearly paying off. Since their promotion in 2021, the Bees have firmly established themselves in the Premier League.
