Manon Eluère is a consultant on group dynamics for OL and Chelsea Women / ©Damien LG

After three seasons within Sonia Bompastor's staff at Olympique Lyonnais Women's team, Manon Eluère is now a consultant on group dynamics at OL… And at Chelsea, where she is reunited with the French coach, convinced by the importance of collective cohesion in performance. The doctor in sports psychology began her role with the Women's Super League leaders in November. An opportunity for her to describe the four stages of her method to a new club: "The first is to immerse myself in the context of the team, in order to create the tool best suited to the needs of the group. In a second step, I explain my approach to the players for around thirty minutes and collect perceptive data through questionnaires to make a diagnosis of their mode of operation as a team. All of these elements allow me to analyze the group dynamics, which I then debrief with the coach and the performance director to get their interpretations. We review all of the practical recommendations that I then send them in a detailed report of 30 to 50 pages". Then begins the most crucial period of the work: "The concrete implementation of the actions and the back and forth between recommendations and the fields of play".
