For the past two seasons, Brazilian Pedro Nogueira has been at the helm of Lausanne-Sport's U21 elite team. At this historic club academy, producer of many players for the Swiss national teams, Nogueira, who passed his UEFA Pro License in Spain, is thriving: "We have the resources to develop our young players. Switzerland is a very interesting country from a football perspective because it's a crossroads between the French culture focused on athleticism and individual skills, the German mentality of pressing, and a Latin side with teams that play positional games." After experience as assistant coach of the French Stade de Reims reserve team and Spanish D3 teams, the LS coach sees the openness each day of a country that shines at the international level, despite its limited population: "With 8 million inhabitants, less than the region of Paris, it's very impressive to find between 3 and 4 very high-level players in each elite team."
