This October, Emmanuel Vallance will celebrate his first year as "head of sports sciences" in OL Women's performance department. After a season he describes as "very enriching and full of emotions," marked by a French league title and a Champions League final, the former head of performance at Sochaux, who, notably, also worked at Nice, Metz, and with the Scottish national team, is now experiencing Joe Montemurro's method for the first time. "It's a very different methodology from what I've seen before: the coach demands much more intensity, and that all training issues stem from things observed in games. Everything is taken into consideration," explains the doctor in sports sciences about the style of the former Arsenal and Juventus coach. "From an athletic point of view, we have to focus more specifically on injury prevention, especially on workload management. It’s very stimulating because I’ve never worked in this way before." However, OL's objectives remain unchanged: "We're expected to win everywhere, and we must win everything."
