The director of the KPC Academy in Guinea Conakry is continuing his work across all areas of performance. His latest project? Developing the cognitive aspect and everything related to taking and processing information. To do this, Thierry Guillou has brought in Blazepod systems — light-up pods with different colors triggered by a smartphone. "The idea is to give players tools to shift their focus away from the ball and onto other game-related elements. For now, we’re not at the stage of sorting and prioritizing information, but rather at developing cognitive flexibility." The coach plans to supplement this work with two-toned training bibs that will allow for a variety of exercises related to information processing. Stay tuned...
