Newcastle ended a 70-year title drought by winning the EFL Cup against Liverpool. Beyond the tactical aspect, it's a victory for English manager Eddie Howe. He has developed a strong relationship with his players since taking over in November 2021. He uses management methods he learned from his former coaches, which explains the strong performances he's been achieving with the club. On the club's website, Dan Burn emphasized: "Above all, he wants to know how you are as a person rather than just a footballer; that's what sets him apart from other managers I've worked under." The former Bournemouth manager listens to his players and doesn't hesitate to help them in their personal lives: "I recently became a father," said midfielder Longstaff in 2024. "He invited me to see him and gave me a book that he gave to his children. It's the part that people don't see, that's why I love it so much."
