The Wings Cup! This is the name of the international tournament like no other, beginning today at RB Leipzig in Germany. Always seeking innovation, the Red Bull group is never short of ideas in its desire to develop its young players and has just presented its new concept. Starting today, the Austrian brand's four U17 teams (Salzburg, Leipzig, New York, and Bragantino), along with those of Southampton and PSV Eindhoven, are coming together for a 5-on-5 tournament that breaks the mould from the very first day, as players from all six teams will be mixed together. The goal of these hybrid training sessions? "It creates an intense learning environment in which players are pushed out of their comfort zones and are required to solve problems in real time," explain the organizers. The players will return to their respective colors on the second day, but this time they will have to adapt to unusual rules: playing with a fixed offside line, rotational substitutions, and the ability to kick or dribble the ball from the touchline. The third day will be devoted to conferences led by professional clubs such as Sporting Lisbon and AS Monaco, in the presence of the group's director of football, one Jürgen Klopp.
