Accept the situation as it is to bounce back stronger and regain self-confidence / © Icon Sport

In every team, a player goes through a rough patch or a dip in form during a match or in training, but how can they regain their confidence? According to Jean-Philipe Lachaux, Research Director at the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research and a specialist in concentration, this can be inspired by champions. Speaking on France Inter, he emphasized that even if champions are going through a rough patch, they know how to accept the situation, which helps them move forward: "A champion will accept the conditions, which includes their own condition. They say to themselves, 'I can't do it today because I'm stressed, because I have these worries, because I'm in pain,' but I accept the situation as it is. But what can I do better despite everything? What is my little margin of freedom that allows me to move forward?" The expert compares a 20-year-old athlete, with such a level of mental strength, to that of a 50-year-old person with much greater life experience.
