In just a few hours, Lucas Vanhuysse transitioned from the heat of Senegal to the cold climate of Hainaut. As the assistant coach and video analyst for Dakar-Sacré-Coeur, he decided to join the experienced Karim Belhocine at Royal Francs Borains, a Belgian second-division team. "I really enjoyed my time at DSC, but this was a professional opportunity that was hard to pass up." Reflecting on his months at the OL-affiliated club, the former assistant coach at Wasquehal (France's fourth division) has fond memories: "It's been a long time since I felt such joy in coaching. In Senegal, I rediscovered a simplicity in human relationships and in work that reminded me of my early days." This experience has influenced his approach at RFB: "I now have a better understanding of the cultural differences of each player, whether they're from Africa or Europe, and I pay closer attention to their individual stories. I've placed human relationships at the heart of my coaching and firmly believe in the importance of understanding the man before the player."
